What do you do at Gloo? I am the Content Manager here at Gloo, which means I do a little bit of everything. From curating and writing website copy to keeping digital campaigns on track, my role in projects is to make sure all content reflects the quality and values of the business / brand it's representing. I find so much joy in the success and happiness of my clients, and strive to deliver work that is authentic and fit for purpose.
What is your experience for working in your position? My first role was for a national events company, looking after their marketing and communications. I then joined a local design studio, where I managed all sorts of projects for a broad range of clients, making sure work was completed on time, on budget, and of course, on brand.
What do you like about working at Gloo? The team is truly phenomenal - yes, everyone says this, but it's true. I get to work across many different kinds of projects with wonderful people which makes each day unique and fascinating.
What are the values that drive you? Curiosity, empathy and creativity.
What are your favourite books or podcasts? I adore whimsical, dramatic, introspective fiction that explores human connection. My favourite Australian authors would have to be Tim Winton, Robbie Arnott, Liane Moriarty and Christos Tsiolkas. Beyond Oz, I love Kazuo Ishiguro, Lucy Foley, Coco Mellors, Madeline Miller, Kristin Hannah, Maggie O'Farrell - I mean, the list really does go on and on.
As a pop culture enthusiast, my favourite podcast has to be Shameless - such an innovative media company with an unmatched connection to their audience. AdMission is a great one whether you're in adland or not, incredible industry insights and commentary on some of the world's most interesting brands.. For a light-hearted chuckle, the Off Menu podcast is simply divine.
What are your hobbies and interests? Experiencing art in all forms - music, film, literature, markets, museums, galleries, and everything in-between. Precious moments for me include taking my dog Obi to the beach, listening to and collecting vinyl, enjoying delicious food and wine, and spending quality time with loved ones. Writing has always been something I love and try to do more of whenever I can.
What are your favourite travel destinations? Close to home, Bruny Island and Bay of Fires are very special and re-energising places for me - Noosa is always on my mind for that same reason. Further across the pond, Ypres, Belgium is absolutely magical with its cobblestone streets and gorgeous architecture, and I'd love to return someday. A favourite place that I am returning to very soon is Miyajima Island in Japan, which I'm incredibly excited about, and Japan as a whole is just breathtaking.
